[Video Goals] Liverpool 1-2 Roma: Ojo Goal Not Enough As Reds Crash

By on August 2, 2016

Liverpool’s pre-season tour of the United States ended in defeat after Jurgen Klopp’s men went down 2-1 to Roma in the International Champions Cup last night.

Klopp named a strong side with the likes of Sadio Mane, Daniel Sturridge and Georginio Wijnaldum all starting but Roma began the stronger of the two sides and took a deserved midway through the first half when Eden Dzeko fired home from outside the area.

Liverpool levelled things up on the stroke of half-time as youngster Sheyi Ojo headed home from close range following a James Milner corner in the 46th minute.

However, Roma won it just after the hour mark when Mohamed Salah poked home from close range after Simon Mignolet had done well to save a Dzeko header.

The Reds couldn’t find another equaliser so slumped to a 2-1 defeat and the squad will now head back to Merseyside to prepare for Saturday’s clash with Barcelona at Wembely.
