Arsenal Dealt Blow As Key Man Ruled Out For A Month But Trio Set To Return

Arsenal have been dealt a blow with the news that Aaron Ramsey has been ruled out for a month with a hamstring injury but three key men are set to return

Arsenal have been dealt a blow with the news that Aaron Ramsey has been ruled out for a month with a hamstring injury but three key men are set to return this weekend, according to the Telegraph.

Ramsey was rushed back to start in Arsenal’s season opener against Liverpool on Sunday despite only returning to pre-season training two weeks ago following his participation at Euro 2016 with Wales.

Arsene Wenger’s gamble back-fired as the midfielder was forced off on the hour mark after suffering a hamstring injury and the Telegraph claim that scan results show he’s been ruled out for up to a month.

It means Ramsey will now miss Saturday’s trip to champions Leicester City as well as our subsequent clash with Watford before sitting out of Wales’ World Cup qualifier with Moldova at the start of September.

As long as his recovery goes smoothly, the 25-year-old could then make his return to action when we welcome Southampton to the Emirates after the international break on September 10th.

Losing Ramsey is the latest blow after Gabriel joined Per Mertesacker on the sidelines with a serious ankle injury while Alex Iwobi is still waiting to hear how bad the thigh injury is that he picked up during the defeat to Liverpool on Sunday.

The good news is that with an international break coming up, Ramsey should only miss two Arsenal games so the damage is limited and Jack Wilshere or Santi Cazorla should be back in contention for a starting spot this weekend.

There is further positive news with the Telegraph claiming that Mesut Ozil, Olivier Giroud and Laurent Koscielny will all return to the squad for the trip to Leicester after missing the Liverpool clash.

The trio only started their pre-season preparations a week ago so weren’t fit enough to feature on Sunday but could all return to the starting eleven at the King Power, which will be a huge boost for the team as all three were sorely missed at the weekend.
