[Video Highlights] Tottenham 1-1 Liverpool: Rose Rescues Point As Reds Held

By on August 27, 2016

Danny Rose scored a second half equaliser as Tottenham Hotspur came from behind to draw 1-1 with Liverpool at White Hart Lane on Saturday afternoon.

Liverpool started the brighter of the two sides and could have taken the lead had Michel Vorm not twice denied Brazilian playmaker Philippe Coutinho in the first half.

The visitors did eventually find the breakthrough shorty before half-time when Erik Lamela clipped the heels of Roberto Firmino inside the area. James Milner cooly slotted home the resulting spot kick for 0-1 at the break.

Liverpool thought they had wrapped-up the three points when Sadio Mane scored from close range only for the goal to be ruled out as Adam Lallana was marginally offside in the build-up.

That decision proved key as Tottenham found the equaliser in the 72nd minute when Danny Rose ghosted in at the far post to fire past Simon Mignolet following a right-wing cross from Eric Dier.

Neither side could find the winner during the final stages of the game so an entertaining match finished 1-1 in north London.
