Mesut Ozil was the inspiration as Arsenal secured a vital 3-1 victory over Watford at Vicarage Road this afternoon.

We came flying out the blocks and got the perfect opportunity to open the scoring from the penalty spot after Alexis Sanchez was fouled by Younes Kaboul in the area. Santi Cazorla stepped up and slotted home for 1-0 in the 9th minute.

We had to wait until the 40th minute before doubling our advantage as a flowing counter-attack led to Theo Walcott supplying a wonderful cross for Alexis Sanchez who found the back of the net at the far post.

The game looked to be over when Arsenal added a third on the stroke of half-time as Ozil headed home a superb Sanchez cross for 3-0 in first half stoppage time.

Watford pulled one back in the 57th minute when Roberto Pereyra fired home after Arsenal had failed to clear their lines in the area.

However, we held on to our two-goal lead and saw out the rest of the game to secure a vital three points that lifts us in to the top half of the table.
