[Photos] Chelsea Star A Major Injury Doubt For Liverpool Game

A Chelsea star is a major doubt to face Liverpool on Friday night after suffering an ankle injury during the 2-2 draw with Swansea City on Sunday afternoon.

Chelsea skipper John Terry is a major doubt to face Liverpool on Friday night after suffering an ankle injury during the 2-2 draw with Swansea City on Sunday afternoon.

Terry suffered the injury during the final minute at the Liberty Stadium and was left in agony after appearing to roll his ankle following a clash with Swans striker Leroy Fer.

The 35-year-old centre-back limped off the pitch after the final whistle and was later pictured leaving the stadium on crutches following the controversial draw in Wales.

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte confirmed after the match that Terry had suffered an injury but said they wouldn’t know the full extent of the problem until further tests were carried out.

Conte is quoted as saying by the Mirror:

“I don’t know the extent (of the injury),” Conte said.

“Tomorrow we’ll see the situation about his ankle. He is a warrior. I’m not worried.”

Terry later took to Instagram on Sunday night to post an image of his left ankle in bandages with ‘angry face’ emoji’s before also sharing a snap of him getting a scan on the injured ankle.

The long-serving skipper also uploaded a video to his Instagram account of him receiving some treatment on the ankle to try and reduce the swelling as he works hard to try and get himself back in action as soon as possible.

We’ll have to wait and see the results of the scan before we’ll learn how long Terry will be out for but the defender is now considered as a major doubt for Chelsea’s clash with Liverpool at Stamford Bridge on Friday night.

The Blues welcome Jurgen Klopp’s men to west London having ended their 100% start to the new season with a disappointing draw at Swansea yesterday that saw Chelsea go 2-1 down after losing their 1-0 lead before Diego Costa scored a late equaliser to salvage a point.
