According to stats from Oulala.com, Liverpool attacker Philippe Coutinho has been the best player in the Premier League so far beating off competition from Manchester City and Chelsea stars.

Coutinho has been in excellent form for the Merseysiders so far this campaign with the Brazilian international scoring two goals during Liverpool’s opening weekend win over Arsenal before netting a stunner during the 5-1 demolition of Hull City last month.

The winger has also chipped in with two assists and put in a string of impressive performances to help Jurgen Klopp’s side win five of their seven league games so far to sit fourth in the table.

Now, Fantasy Football specialists Oulala, have analysed all 414 players who have featured in the Premier League this season and their findings show that Coutinho has statistically been the best player so far.

The stats show that Coutinho has registered 29 shots in his seven appearances which is second only to Manchester United’s Zlatan Ibrahimovic while the Reds attacker also performs well in assists, successful take-ons, key passes, chances created and goals.

With such an impressive contribution, Oulala claim that Coutinho has beaten off competition from Manchester City attacker Kevin De Bruyne and Chelsea striker Diego Costa to be named as the ‘Player of the Season’ so far.

De Bruyne has been excellent under Pep Guardiola so far while Costa has rediscovered his best form under new boss Antonio Conte having scored six goals in his seven games, but neither player can match Coutinho’s stats overall.
