Theo Walcott scored two as 10-men Arsenal held on to secure a huge 3-2 victory over Swansea City at the Emirates on Saturday afternoon.

We started brightly but had to wait until the 26th minute to break the deadlock when Theo Walcott pounced on a mistake by Jordi Amat to poke home the opener for 1-0.

Walcott then made it 6 goals in his last 5 games after showing great close control before firing home from close range following more sloppy defending by the visitors in the 33rd minute.

Swansea were then gifted an unlikely route back in to the game when Granit Xhaka gifted Gylfi Sigurdsson possession on the edge of our area and the Icelandic international took full advantage by curling home a superb effort for 2-1.

We restored our two-goal cushion after the break as Mesut Ozil smashed a volley in to the top corner at the far post to make it 3-1 in the 57th minute but Swansea made it 3-2 less than 10 minutes later when Baston swept home following poor defending from Nacho Monreal.

Arsenal were then reduced to 10-men in controversial circumstances when Granit Xhaka was shown a straight red for a cynical foul on the half way line but replays showed it was a harsh decision from Jon Moss.

Swansea had a couple of chances to grab an equaliser while Walcott missed two excellent opportunities to seal hit hat-trick and secure the three points but we held on for a huge 3-2 win that see’s us move level on points with Man City following their draw with Everton.
