Arsenal will be looking to keep the pressure on at the top of the Premier League when they take on Sunderland at the Stadium of Light this lunchtime.

Arsene Wenger is without Theo Walcott after the winger picked up a minor hamstring injury so Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain keeps his place on the right wing after scoring a brace in midweek.

Nacho Monreal is also ruled out with a minor muscle problem so Kieran Gibbs starts at left-back while Santi Cazorla is also not risked as he continues to recover from an achilles injury.

Aaron Ramsey returns to the squad for the first time since suffering a hamstring injury on the opening weekend of the season while several players return after being rested for the EFL Cup win over Reading.

Here are the confirmed line-ups:

Sunderland

Pickford, Jones, Van Aanholt, O’Shea, Kone, Rodwell, Pienaar, NDong, Khazri, Watmore, Defoe

Subs: Mika, Djilobodji, Love, Manquillo, Januzaj, Gooch, Anichebe

Arsenal

Cech; Bellerin, Mustafi, Koscielny, Gibbs; Elneny, Coquelin; Oxlade-Chamberlain, Ozil, Iwobi; Sanchez.

Subs: Ospina, Gabriel, Ramsey, Giroud, Holding, Jenkinson, Maitland-Niles.
