Chelsea moved top of the Premier League table with a resounding 5-0 victory over Everton at Stamford Bridge on Saturday evening.

The Blues started brightly and opened the scoring inside the opening 20 minutes as Eden Hazard fired home after cutting in from the left before they doubled their lead just a minute later when Marcos Alonso drilled home a Pedro cross for 2-0.

In-form striker Diego Costa then lashed home his 9th goal in 11 games following a 42nd minute corner to put Chelsea 3-0 ahead and in total control at half time.

The hosts didn’t take their foot off the gas after the break as Hazard made it 4-0 with a clever finish in to the bottom corner following an excellent team move before Pedro completed the rout with a smart finish following good work from Costa in the 65th minute.

The impressive victory sees Chelsea climb to the top of the table following Manchester City’s 1-1 draw with Middlesbrough this afternoon.
