Arsenal appear to have been handed a huge fitness boost ahead of their crunch clash with Manchester United next weekend with Alexis Sanchez back in training with the Chile national team.

Sanchez was expected to miss the trip to Old Trafford next Saturday lunchtime after suffering a hamstring injury in training with the Chile national team last week.

The 27-year-old was forced to miss Thursday’s World Cup qualifying draw with Colombia and was considered as a major doubt for Tuesday’s key clash with Uruguay after scans showed a minor tear in his hamstring.

However, it looks as though Sanchez is set for a swift return to action as Goal are one of several outlets who’re reporting that the Gunners’ attacker took part in training with the rest of the Chile squad on Sunday afternoon.

It will come as a major boost to Arsenal, although I’m sure Arsene Wenger will be concerned by the photo above of Sanchez in training today as he was sporting a large bandage on his injured hamstring.

The Gunners boss has already gone public to urge Chile not to risk Sanchez on Tuesday night as the attacker could be ruled out for a number of weeks if he aggravates the injury in midweek.

But with Chile currently sitting outside the automatic qualification positions, boss Juan Antonio Pizzi is likely to take a risk with Sanchez even if the Arsenal superstar isn’t 100% fit.

The north Londoners travel to Old Trafford next Saturday lunchtime for a crucial clash with Man Utd so Wenger will praying his number one striker comes through the game unharmed if he does feature on Tuesday.

Arsenal currently hold a six point lead over United in the table but it would be a huge blow if they were to take on Jose Mourinho’s men without Sanchez so I’m sure Wenger will be keeping a close eye on the situation over the coming days.
