Arsenal had to come from a goal down to eventually beat Stoke City 3-1 at the Emirates this afternoon to move top of the Premier League table.

After a bright start by both sides, there was huge controversy midway through the first half as Stoke were awarded a dubious penalty when Lee Mason adjudged that Granit Xhaka had caught Joe Allen with an elbow in the box.

Charlie Adam stepped up to send Petr Cech the wrong way and make no mistake from the spot to give the Potters a shock lead in the 29th minute.

Arsenal found the equaliser just minutes before half time when Alexis Sanchez found Hector Bellerin with a lovely ball and the Spaniard picked up Theo Walcott who fired home at the near post for 1-1.

We then took the lead shortly after the break as Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain found Mesut Ozil with a lovely floated ball over the top and the German sent a superb looping header over the Stoke keeper for 2-1.

The three points were then secured when Alex Iwobi played a neat one-two with Sanchez before cooly slotting home in to the bottom corner for 3-1 in the 75th minute.

The victory means we move level on points with Chelsea ahead of their game with West Brom tomorrow but sit top of the pile thanks to our superior goal-scored record.
