By on December 11, 2016

Chelsea moved back to the top of the Premier League above Arsenal after securing a narrow 1-0 victory over West Bromwich Albion at Stamford Bridge this afternoon.

The visitors set their stall out early to frustrate the Blues with men behind the ball and it meant Antonio Conte’s men struggled to create any clear cut opportunities during the opening forty-five minutes as the two teams went in level at the break.

Tony Pulis’ side continued to defend in numbers in the second half but Chelsea eventually found a way through as Diego Costa did well to win possession deep in the West Brom half before curling home a superb left-footed effort in to the far top corner for 1-0 in the 75th minute.

The Baggies couldn’t get themselves back in the game so Chelsea secured their ninth consecutive Premier League victory in a row to move back to the top of the table and go three points clear of Arsenal.
