By on December 13, 2016

Arsenal blew their chance to leapfrog Chelsea at the top of the table after Everton came from a goal down to run out 2-1 winners at Goodison Park on Tuesday night.

It was a lively start to the game from both sides but we managed to open the scoring when Francis Coquelin won a free-kick right on the edge of the area. Alexis Sanchez saw his low effort deflect off Ashley Williams and in to the net for 0-1 in the 20th minute.

Everton grew into the game and finished the stronger of the two sides with Ronald Koeman’s men getting a deserved equaliser when Seamus Coleman headed home a superb cross from Leighton Baines shortly before half-time.

Arsenal missed some chances to retake the lead after the break and the Toffees made us pay after they took the lead with less than five minutes remaining as Williams headed home from a corner to put Ronald Koeman’s side 2-1 ahead.

Alex Iwobi then missed a glorious chance to make it 2-2 right at the death as he saw his shot cleared off the line while Sanchez also had a solid shout for a penalty but nothing was given so we slumped to our second defeat of the season.
