By on December 20, 2016

Some of the Liverpool players have been celebrating on social media after they claimed a dramatic late 1-0 win over Everton in the Merseyside derby at Goodison Park last night.

It looked as though we were heading for a stalemate when substitute Daniel Sturridge saw his long-range effort come back off the bottom of the post and Sadio Mane was on hand to poke home a 94th minute winner for the visitors.

The victory was a huge boost to Liverpool’s title challenge as it saw them climb up to second in the Premier League table and to within six points of leaders Chelsea as we approach the half way point in the season.

Understandably, after such an important win, the Liverpool players have been celebrating on social media with Philippe Coutinho – who missed the game through injury last night – taking to Instagram to congratulate his team mates.

Simon Mignolet, Daniel Sturridge, Sadio Mane, Nathaniel Clyne, Jordan Henderson, Roberto Firmino and Divock Origi have also taken to Twitter to post photos and messages with many declaring that ‘Merseyside/Liverpool is red’ after the 1-0 win at Everton.

Check out what the players have been saying here:

Well done
