[Video Goals] Liverpool 2-0 Tottenham: Mane Bags Double As Reds Slay Spurs
Sadio Mane scored both goals as Liverpool moved back in to the top four of the Premier League table thanks to a 2-0 victory over Tottenham at Anfield this evening.
The Reds came flying out the blocks and opened the scoring in the 16th minute when Mane raced on to a pass from Gini Wijnaldum and outpaced Ben Davies before slotting in to the roof of the net for 1-0.
The Senegal international was on hand to double Liverpool’s lead just two minutes later as he fired home from close range after Hugo Lloris had parried Adam Lallana’s initial effort.
Tottenham struggled to muster any meaningful response and it was the hosts who had the better chances to add to the scoreline during the second half.
However, it stayed 2-0 which sees Liverpool climb back up to fourth place in the table while Spurs remain second but will fall 12 points adrift of Chelsea if they beat Burnley on Sunday.
