[Video Highlights] Man Utd 0-0 West Brom: Baggies Dent Utd’s Top 4 Hopes

By on April 1, 2017

Manchester United’s chances of finishing in the top four were dented after they were held to a frustrating 0-0 draw by West Bromwich Albion at Old Trafford this afternoon.

Jose Mourinho was without a number of first team regulars with Juan Mata joining Phil Jones, Chris Smalling and Paul Pogba on the sidelines while Ander Herrera and Zlatan Ibrahimovic were missing through suspension.

United were clearly missing there key men as they struggled to break down a stubborn West Brom defence with Anthony Martial missing one of the better opportunities during the first half as he headed wide at the far post.

Marouane Fellaini then screwed a good chance wide shortly after half time before Martial saw a long-range effort whiz past the post minutes later.

Ben Foster then made a decent save to deny Marcus Rashford from long range as United ramped up the pressure in the second half but the Baggies held on to secure a point.

The draw leaves United fifth in the table but they now trail Manchester City by four points ahead of their trip to Arsenal tomorrow afternoon.
