By on April 1, 2017

Tottenham Hotspur kept alive their hopes of catching Chelsea after securing an impressive 2-0 win over Burnley at Turf Moor this afternoon.

It was a tight opening forty-five minutes and the two sides went in to the break level at 0-0 but Spurs pulled away during the second half to secure a vital win.

The deadlock was broken midway through the second period as Eric Dier kept his cool to fire home from 6 yards following a 66th minute corner.

As Burnley pushed to find the equaliser, Tottenham finished the game off as Dele Alli found substitute Hueng-min Son with a pin-point cross and the South Korean made no mistake at the far post to make it 0-2 in the 77th minute.

The win, coupled with Chelsea’s shock defeat at home to Crystal Palace, sees Tottenham move to within seven points of the leaders with nine games remaining.
