[Video Goals] Man utd 1-1 Everton: Last Gasp Ibrahimovic Rescues United

By on April 4, 2017

Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored a last gasp penalty to salvage a point for Manchester United as they came from behind to draw 1-1 with Everton at Old Trafford tonight.

Jose Mourinho freshened up his side from the eleven that drew 0-0 with West Bromwich Albion at the weekend but it didn’t have the desired effect as the hosts struggled to get going.

Everton took full advantage as Ronald Koeman’s side opened the scoring in the 21st minute when Phil Jagielka beat Marcos Rojo to the ball and acrobatically turned the ball home on the volley with the outside of his foot.

It looked like United were heading for their first league defeat in 20 games but they were gifted the perfect opportunity to extend that run with a stoppage time equaliser from the penalty spot.

Ashley Williams was the villain for Everton as he handled Luke Shaw’s goal-bound effort and Ibrahimovic stepped up to convert the resulting spot kick to make it 1-1 with virtually the last kick of the game.
