Mourinho Looks To Trump Chelsea After Holding Talks With Arsenal Star Over OT Move

Managers are now making plans for the summer transfer window so we’ll bring you all the latest news and gossip from around the globe. Today, Man Utd have made their move for Alexis Sanchez….
Jose Mourinho is trying to beat Chelsea to the signing of Alexis Sanchez after holding talks with the Arsenal star over a possible move to Manchester United this summer, according to the Mirror.
Sanchez is approaching the final year of his contract at the Emirates and has been widely tipped to leave this summer after failing to agree terms over an extension with the north Londoners.
Arsene Wenger confirmed recently that all negotiations over a new deal have been put on hold until the end of the season but it’s looking increasingly likely that Sanchez will be on the move this summer.
Chelsea have emerged as favourites to sign the 28-year-old with the Guardian reporting last week that Blues boss Antonio Conte has made Sanchez is prime transfer target.
The Italian coach is expected to further strengthen his squad ahead of their return to the Champions League and Sanchez fuelled speculation over a potential switch to Stamford Bridge after saying he is happy to stay in London but wants to win trophies.
However, it looks as though Chelsea will face stiff competition for the Chilean international’s signature as the Mirror are now reporting that Jose Mourinho has made contact with Sanchez to discuss a possible move to Old Trafford.
The United boss is also gearing up for a busy summer with a new forward on the agenda as Wayne Rooney is expected to leave after falling out-of-favour while Zlatan Ibrahimovic is yet to sign a new contract.
The Manchester giants have been linked with a number of top class players in recent months but it looks like Mourinho is now trying to pull off a major coup by luring Sanchez to United.
However, Arsenal will obviously still have a major say in any deal and I’d be hugely surprised if the Gunners agreed to sell their star man to a Premier League rival this summer.
Wenger has made a point of saying that the club are no longer in a position where they have to sell their best players to cover the bills and it would cause uproar in north London if the club sold Sanchez to Chelsea or United.
So if Arsenal do end up having to cash-in on Sanchez, I think we’ll see them do all they can to sell him abroad to the likes of Juventus or Paris Saint-Germain.
