Defender Tells Mourinho He’ll Join Man Utd Ahead Of Potential £16.5m Move

Managers are now making plans for the summer transfer window so we’ll bring you all the latest news and gossip from around the globe. Today, Serge Aurier is linked with Man Utd….

Serge Aurier has agreed to join Manchester United this summer following talks with Jose Mourinho ahead of a potential £16.5m switch from Paris Saint-Germain, according to L’Equipe via Get French Football.

Mourinho is gearing-up for a busy summer in the transfer market with the Portuguese coach expected to bring in several players as he looks to turn United in to genuine title challengers again.

It appears a long-term replacement for Antonio Valencia is on the agenda as Get French Football News are carrying a report from L’Equipe that claims United are in advanced talks with Aurier.

The report indicates that the Ivory Coast international has agreed in principal to move to Old Trafford at the end of the season following a personal telephone call with Mourinho.

PSG are desperate to keep hold of the 24-year-old and the clubs owner Nasser Al Khelaifi is doing his best to tie him down to a new three-year contract extension.

However, L’Equipe suggest that with Aurier now eyeing a move to United, the Ligue 1 champions may be forced to sell for around £16.5m (€20m) if the right-back refuses to sign the new deal.

Aurier joined PSG from Toulouse in 2015 and after a difficult start to life at the Parc des Prince, he’s now showing his best form again and has made 28 appearances in all competitions this season.

The Ivorian has all the makings of an excellent full-back so I think he’d be a great signing if United could pull it off this summer but we’ll have to wait and see what develops over the coming weeks.

If Aurier does end up snubbing PSG’s new contract offer then we should expect a move this summer and it appears a switch to Old Trafford is very-much on the cards.
