Mourinho To Make 4 Changes: Predicted Man Utd XI vs Swansea

Manchester United will be looking to continue their push for the top four when they take on Swansea at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon.

Here is the team I think Jose Mourinho will pick for the game:

Goalkeeper: David De Gea continues to be linked with a move back to Spain this summer but as long as he’s still on the books at Old Trafford, he should be starting between the sticks.

Defence: Mourinho has mounting problems at the back as Timothy Fosu-Mensah is the latest player to be ruled out after the youngster suffered a suspected dislocated shoulder against Man City last night.

Chris Smalling is still nursing a knee injury, Phil Jones remains out with a foot problem while Marcos Rojo has been ruled out for several months with a serious knee ligament injury. Therefore, Mourinho has very few options to rotate in the middle of defence so Daley Blind should once again start alongside Eric Bailly.

However, the United boss could rotate his full-backs with Luke Shaw coming in for Matteo Darmian while Ashley Young could give Antonio Valencia a rest on the right.

Midfield: United also have selection problems in midfield as Paul Pogba has been ruled out after failing to recover from a muscle injury that kept him out of the trip to City last night. The French international could make his comeback against Celta Vigo next week.

Marouane Fellaini will start a three-match ban following his dismissal at the Etihad Stadium so Mourinho may be forced to stick with Michael Carrick and Ander Herrera this weekend.

Attack: Wayne Rooney could be recalled in the attacking midfield role while Jesse Lingard should come back in to the side after being named on the bench against City.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan may keep his place in attack with Juan Mata still recovering from groin surgery while Marcus Rashford should lead the line up front after another impressive run out last night.

Anthony Martial will be an option from the bench but Mourinho will have to call upon the youngsters as he has very few other senior options with Zlatan Ibrahimovic out for the season.
