By on April 30, 2017

Tottenham kept in touch with Chelsea at the top of the Premier League after beating Arsenal 2-0 at White Hart Lane this afternoon.

Spurs had the better of the first half and missed two excellent chances to break the deadlock but Dele Alli and Christian Eriksen failed to convert clear cut opportunities.

However, the two were involved in the first goal when it eventually came as Eriksen’s effort was saved by Petr Cech and Alli was on hand to poke home the rebound for 1-0 in the 55th minute.

The hosts were given the perfect chance to double their lead just 3 minutes later when Gabriel fouled Harry Kane in the area. The England international stepped up to slot home the resulting spot kick for 2-0.

The win sees Tottenham close the gap on Chelsea to four points while Arsenal remain sixth and six points off the top four with a game in hand.
