Manchester United have joined the likes of Arsenal and Tottenham in the race to sign Fulham’s highly sought after defender Ryan Sessegnon this summer, according to the Mirror.
Sessegnon has become one of the hottest properties outside of the Premier League after enjoying a breakthrough season at Craven Cottage that’s seen him score 7 goals in his 29 appearances so far.
The 16-year-old has been with Fulham since he was just nine but has now established himself in the first team after progressing through the youth ranks and has also represented England at several youth age groups.
The talented left-back has attracted plenty of attention with the Mirror claiming that the likes of Arsenal and Tottenham have made their interest known while Liverpool have also been touted as potential suitors.
Kieran Gibbs and Nacho Monreal are both being tipped to leave the Emirates this summer and it appears the Gunners are ready to renew their interest in Sessegnon having previously seen an offer knocked back by Fulham.
Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino is also set to further strengthen their squad ahead of their return to the Champions League and Sessegnon would join a talented young squad if he ends up at White Hart Lane this summer.
However, the north London duo will face even more competition as the Mirror claims that Untied have now made their own enquiries over signing Sessegnon at the end of the season.
Jose Mourinho is gearing up for another busy summer and he could be in the market for a replacement for Luke Shaw with the former Southampton ace struggling to win over the ‘Special One’.
No doubt Fulham will be desperate to keep hold of Sessegnon if they get promoted to the Premier League but the Daily Mail reported last month that they may cash-in if £15m was put on the table.
That’s obviously a big fee for a teenager who’s only had one year in the Championship but Sessegnon looks to be a special talent so I wouldn’t be surprised if we see one of the big boys pay that kind of money to snap him up this summer.
