Chelsea will be looking to put one hand on the Premier League trophy when they take on Middlesbrough at Stamford Bridge on Monday night.

Ahead of the game, Antonio Conte has been speaking to the media at his pre-match press conference this morning and he’s given Chelseafc.com a team news and injury update.

The Blues boss revealed two fresh injury doubts with N’Golo Kante and David Luiz both fitness concerns to face ‘Boro on Monday after picking up knocks.

Kante has been virtually ever-present for Chelsea this season but the French international could be set for a rare night off after picking up a minor thigh problem.

Luiz limped out of last Sunday’s 3-0 victory over Everton at Goodison Park with an apparent groin injury and like Kante, will be assessed ahead of the game on Monday night.

There was more positive news regarding the fitness of Thibaut Courtois as the goalkeeper is expected to be available after returning to full training today.

Courtois aggravated an ankle injury against Everton having previously been sidelined by the problem last month but it looks as though the Belgian international will be fit to face Middlesbrough.

Conte told the clubs website:

‘Thibaut trained today and yesterday, I don’t see any problems with him. This week we are struggling with two situations, David and N’Golo, but there are three days before the game and I have time to make the best decisions about them.

‘N’Golo has a little muscular problem with his thigh, not a great problem, so for this reason I must see the best way for him.’

No doubt Conte will be desperate for Kante and Luiz to be available on Monday as they have both been crucial members of his starting eleven this season.

Chelsea could go in to the ‘Boro game just one point clear of Tottenham if the north Londoners beat West Ham at the London Stadium tonight so the pressure will be on Conte’s men to get a result on Monday night.
