Tottenham have been rocked with the news that Kyle Walker, Eric Dier and Danny Rose are all looking to leave the club this summer with Manchester United ready to pounce, according to The Sun.
The trio have all played key roles in helping Tottenham finish second in the Premier League and secure Champions League football next season but they appear to have had their heads turned by the money being offered in Manchester.
The Daily Star reported earlier this month that Jose Mourinho was preparing a £110m triple swoop for Walker, Rose and Dier as the United boss looks to build a squad capable of competing for the title next season.
And it looks as though Spurs have a battle on their hands to keep their team together as The Sun claims the trio are now all keen to leave after learning that United are prepared to double their wages to over £120,000-a-week.
Walker, Dier and Rose are all tied to long-term contracts at White Hart Lane worth in the region of £65,000-a-week but they know they will earn considerably more at Old Trafford, so it’s easy to see why they’ve had their heads turned.
Mourinho needs to bring in a long-term replacement for Michael Carrick and Dier would be an excellent addition as he’s not only capable of playing in the holding midfield role but he’s also comfortable at the back.
Left-back is also an area of concern for United as Luke Shaw has failed to win over Mourinho and Rose would be a superb signing as he’s developed in to arguably the best left-back in the Premier League.
The 26-year-old is currently nursing a knee injury but the newspaper says United are still looking to do business this summer despite his fitness issues and claim Rose has told friends he’s keen to move north.
I’m sure Tottenham will do all they can to keep hold of Dier and Rose but the north Londoners appear more willing to sell Walker after the defender fell out with boss Mauricio Pochettino.
Man City have also been strongly linked with the 26-year-old but United need a long-term replacement for Antonio Valencia and Walker would be the ideal solution.
It’s going to be interesting to see how things develop over the coming months and while Spurs will be confident of keeping hold of the likes of Rose and Dier due to their long-term contracts, they will be put in a difficult situation should they try and force their way out of north London.
