Arsenal Team News: Wenger Confirms Injury Boost But Key Man A Doubt To Face Everton

Arsene Wenger has revealed a huge injury boost but another key man is a doubt for Arsenal’s final league game against Everton on Sunday.

Arsenal will look for a win to give ourselves any chance of snatching fourth place when we take on Everton at the Emirates on Sunday afternoon.

Ahead of the game, Arsene Wenger has been speaking to the media at his pre-match press conference this morning and he’s offered a team news and injury update.

The boss has confirmed a huge injury boost with the news that Aaron Ramsey is available for selection despite the midfielder limping out of our win over Sunderland on Tuesday night.

Ramsey required treatment midway through the second half after appearing to feel his calf and was replaced in the 69th minute but Wenger says the Welsh international is fine so he should be in the squad on Sunday.

However, Laurent Koscielny is a doubt to face Everton as the centre-back is facing a late fitness test to see if he’s fully recovered from an Achilles problem.

Koscielny missed the midweek win over Sunderland due to his on-going Achilles issues and it remains to be seen whether the French international will be passed fit this weekend.

One player who is certain to miss out is Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain as Wenger has confirmed that midfielder is still nursing a hamstring injury that he sustained during the win at Southampton earlier this month.

If Koscielny is ruled out then I expect Wenger will go with the same back three that started against Sunderland with Rob Holding joining Shkodran Mustafi and Nacho Monreal in the defence.

With Oxlade-Chamberlain still injured, Hector Bellerin should continue on the right while Ramsey should keep his place in the middle of the park as he’s been in fine form lately.

We head in to the final day of the season knowing we need a win and for Middlesbrough to get a positive result at Anfield for us to snatch fourth position in the table.
