By on May 24, 2017

Daniel Sturridge and Roberto Firmino were on target as Liverpool wrapped-up their season with a comfortable 3-0 friendly win over Sydney this afternoon.

The Reds fielded a unique team that included legends Stven Gerrard and Jamie Carragher while Steve McManaman was also among the substitutes.

Liverpool started brightly and opened the scoring early on as Sturridge showed some good feet to make space before firing low in to the bottom corner from inside the box.

The visitors soon doubled their lead when Firmino lifted the ball in to the path of Alberto Moreno with the out-of-favour defender volleying home for 2-0.

An impressive first forty-five minutes ended with Liverpool adding a third as Sturridge grabbed an assist as Firmino turned home his cross at the near post.

The pace of the game slowed after the break and there were no further goals as Liverpool eased to a 3-0 win in front of more than 72,000 supporters in the ANZ Stadium.
