Arsenal Hold Fresh Talks Over £49m Deal To Sign Liverpool Striker Target

Arsenal have held fresh talks over a deal to sign Liverpool target Alexandre Lacazette and have been told by Lyon they want £48.7m up front

Managers are now pressing ahead with their plans for the summer transfer window so we’ll bring you all the latest news and gossip from around the globe. Today, Arsenal step-up their pursuit of Alexandre Lacazette…

Lyon have informed Arsenal it will require a fee of £48.7m up front plus add ons to sign Alexandre Lacazette this summer after the two clubs held fresh talks over a deal, according to the Telegraph.

Lacazette enhanced his reputation as one of Europe’s most lethal strikers after scoring 37 goals in all competitions for Lyon last season and it’s led to plenty of interest from the Premier League.

The Metro reported earlier this month that Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United are all showing a keen interest in signing the 26-year-old – although it looks as though Jose Mourinho has since turned his attention to Alvaro Morata.

It appears Arsenal have stolen a march on their rivals as the Telegraph claim the Gunners have now held fresh talks with Lyon over a potential deal to land Lacazette this summer.

The newspaper says the French outfit accept now is the time to cash-in on the striker and informed the Gunners they want £48.7m up front with a further £10.6m coming in performance-based add ons.

Lacazette has spent his entire professional career at Lyon but it looks like he’ll finally be on the move this summer and he’s emerged as one of Arsene Wenger’s prime targets as the Arsenal boss looks to strengthen his attack.

Wenger knows he needs to add a prolific goal scorer to his squad if Arsenal are to be genuine title contenders next season and I think Lacazette would be an excellent addition at the Emirates if they could get a deal agreed.

However, I wouldn’t discount Liverpool from the race just yet as Jurgen Klopp is also in the market for a new striker and the Reds are able to offer Lacazette something Arsenal can’t; Champions League football.

We’ll have to wait and see whether either club is willing to pay Lyon’s reported asking price but Lacazette is developing in to a top class striker so I’d love to see him ply his trade here in the Premier League next season.

What is Klopp waiting for regarding Lacazetta as Arsenal have now had 2 sets of talks with Lyon regarding signing the striker and the fee is set at £48.7M plus another £10M for performance targets!!! We Know Wenger can attract Top French players but surly What Klopp can offer and Arsenal can’t is ofcause Champions League footy which Lacazetta has said all the way along that is vital in any move.. for me
Klopp should go all out for Lacazetta & Werner & Keita and if we get Salah I would ideally like a 2nd
Winger also to cover for injuries etc then it leaves us with getting a decent LB which again Arsenal beat us to the LB I wanted to come and then it leaves us with the dreaded CB position again which I would like to see Klopp bring in 2 top CB’s especially with Sakho going come the summer and we haven’t had the best with Injuries at the back with both Lovren and Matip being out for times with injuries but there are a few top CB,s around looking to move on for Champions League footy and for me I like to see someone like J Tah
Or Hernandez or KOULIBALY even Nacho as a back up.. but imagine having Mane Salah on wings and Lacazetta as striker with Firmino just behind wow and Werner as backup or Lacazetta partner if playing 2 up front and that will mean selling Sturridge at last and Moreno Lucas Markovic Sakho to start with plus those youngsters that Klopp wants to move on so he can bring in more youngsters plus we have a few reserves that could make a few appearances this coming season.
