Nemanja Matic is keen to join Manchester United this summer and the Chelsea midfielders agent has been in contact with Jose Mourinho over a possible move, according to the Daily Mail.
Blues boss Antonio Conte has been tipped to bring in another central midfielder this summer which has led to speculation over the future of Matic at Stamford Bridge.
The Serbian international is expected to fall down Conte’s pecking order next season and the newspapers have suggested he could be on the move in search of regular first team football.
A shock move to Man Utd has been touted with the Manchester Evening News reporting last month that Mourinho was eyeing an audacious £40m swoop for his former midfielder.
Mourinho is gearing-up for a busy summer in the transfer market with a long-term replacement for Michael Carrick understood to be a priority and Matic has emerged as a surprise candidate.
The Daily Mail suggest that Eric Dier remains Mourinho’s first choice target but a deal with Tottenham is highly unlikely so the United boss has drawn-up Matic as a back-up option.
And it seems the 28-year-old would be open to the idea as the newspaper claims that Matic is keen on joining United this summer in order to link-up with Mourinho again.
The Portuguese coach was the man to re-sign Matic in 2014 during his time at Chelsea and he played a key role in helping the West Londoners win the title back in 2015.
It looks like a reunion could be on the cards as the Daily Mail claim that Matic’s agents have been in contact with Mourinho over a potential switch to Old Trafford this summer.
However, it remains to be seen whether Roman Abramovich would be willing to do business with not only a rival like United but also their former manager.

We’ll have to wait and see how things develop over the summer but I think Matic would be an excellent addition at United if they were able to get a deal agreed with Chelsea.
