Attacker Told He Can Leave As Arsenal Table £26m Bid

Arda Turan has been told he’s free to find a new club by Barcelona and Arsenal have tested the water with an opening £26m offer, according to reports

Managers are now pressing ahead with their plans for the summer transfer window so we’ll bring you all the latest news and gossip from around the globe. Today, Arsenal are linked with Arda Turan….

Arda Turan has been told he’s free to find a new club by Barcelona and Arsenal have tested the water with an opening £26m offer, according to a report by Marca via the Express.

Turan made his name during spells with Galatasaray and Atletico Madrid before earning a move to Barcelona in 2015 but things haven’t worked out as he would have hoped at the Nou Camp.

The Turkish international has struggled to hold down a regular first team place in Luis Enrique’s side and made just 14 La Liga appearances for the Catalan giants last season.

Understandably, the lack of first team football has led to speculation Turan will look for a move this summer and his agent, Ahmed Bulut, recently admitted the midfielder would be open to leaving if the opportunity arose.

It seems the door has been opened as the Express are citing a report from Spanish outlet Marca that claims Barcelona are now actively looking to sell Turan this summer and have told his agent to consider any offer that comes in.

This has seemingly alerted Arsenal as the newspaper goes on to state that Arsene Wenger has now put forward an opening £26.3m bid for Turan but we could yet face competition from Inter Milan as they are also eyeing the 30-year-old.

We’ve been strongly linked with Turan in recent months as the Sun reported back in March that Wenger had identified the Turkish midfielder as a potential summer transfer target.

It looks like the boss has now formalised his interest as he looks to strengthen his squad to turn us in to genuine title challengers after missing out on the top four last season.

Turan would be a solid addition to the squad as he can play in a variety of positions but my only hope is that Wenger isn’t lining him up as a potential replacement for either Alex Sanchez or Mesut Ozil.
