Arda Turan is being tipped to join Arsenal as his agents are ready to hold talks over a potential £22m move from Barcelona this summer
Managers are now pressing ahead with their plans for the summer transfer window so we’ll bring you all the latest news and gossip from around the globe. Today, Arsenal are set for talks to sign Arda Turan…
Arda Turan is being tipped to join Arsenal as his agents are ready to hold talks over a potential £22m move from Barcelona this summer, according to a report by TeamTalk.
Turan earned a move to the Nou Camp in 2015 after enjoying impressive spells at Galatasaray and Atletico Madrid but his time at Barca hasn’t worked out as he would have hoped.
The Turkish international has struggled to hold down a regular first team place under Luis Enrique and he managed to make just 14 La Liga starts for the Catalan giants last season.
This has led to speculation that Turan will look for a move in search of first team football this summer and TeamTalk are citing a report from Mundo Deportivo that claims Barca officials have now instructed super agent Jorge Mendes to oversee a transfer away from the club.
The Spanish outlet states that Mendes will work closely with Turan’s representative Ahmet Bulut to find a new club and they suggest that Arsenal look increasingly likely to be the attackers next destination.
We’ve been strongly linked with Turan over the past few weeks and Mundo Deportivo, via TeamTalk, claim that Arsenal are ready to pay £22m to sign the winger after he rejected a big-money move to China.
The newspaper says that Arsene Wenger is keen to sign the player this summer and Arsenal chiefs are set to hold talks with Mendes and Bulut over a potential deal to take Turan to the Emirates.
We’ve just splashed out a record fee to sign striker Alexandre Lacazette but Wenger isn’t expected to stop there and a new wide attacker is believed to be next on the bosses agenda.

Turan would be an experienced option and at £22m he’d be a solid deal if we could get something agreed with Barca, however, I’d much rather see us pay a little more to sign either Thomas Lemar or Riyad Mahrez.
