Managers are now pressing ahead with their plans for the summer transfer window so we’ll bring you all the latest news and gossip from around the globe. Today, Arsene Wenger had admitted his interest in Thomas Lemar…

Arsene Wenger has admitted he is interested in signing Thomas Lemar this summer as the Arsenal boss lines-up a fresh £45m bid for the Monaco attacker, according to the Mirror.

Wenger has already broken the clubs transfer record to sign striker Alexandre Lacazette from Lyon while left-back Sead Kolasinac has also arrived on a free transfer from Schalke.

However, the boss has confirmed he’s still looking to further strengthen his squad after missing out on the top four last season and Lemar is a player that’s on his radar.

Wenger says there is nothing concrete to report just yet but the Mirror claim that Arsenal are ready to test Monaco’s resolve with an improved offer worth at least £45m after previously seeing two lower bids rejected.

Speaking at his press conference in Australia this morning the Gunners boss was quizzed about his interest in Lemar and he’s quoted as saying by the Mirror:

“He’s a player that we follow yes, we look at.”

“We are looking at more signings. But there’s nothing really concrete about any signings.”

Lemar has developed in to one of the most exciting attackers in Europe after scoring 14 goals and providing 17 assists to help Monaco beat PSG to the Ligue 1 title last season so it’s easy to see why he’s caught Wenger’s attention.

The Sun claimed last week that we’ve already agreed personal terms with Lemar’s representatives and are now working hard trying to agree a deal with Monaco but it remains to be seen whether our impending fresh offer will be enough to tempt them in to a sale.

Some fans have suggested Lemar is being lined-up as a potential replacement for Alexis Sanchez but the boss insists the Chilean international won’t be sold this summer even if he doesn’t sign a new deal.
