Man Utd Set To Make Approach For £70k-A-Week Star As Mourinho Eyes 4th Signing

Managers are now pressing ahead with their plans for the summer transfer window so we’ll bring you all the latest news and gossip from around the globe. Today, Man Utd are linked with Danny Rose…

Manchester United are being tipped to make an approach for Tottenham Hotspur full-back Danny Rose as Jose Mourinho looks to secure his fourth signing of the summer, according to the Mirror.

Mourinho has confirmed he’s in the market for further reinforcements as he looks to build a title-winning squad having already wrapped-up the signings of Nemanja Matic, Romelu Lukaku and Victor Lindelof.

A new left-back is on the agenda as it was a problem area for United last season with the likes of Daley Blind, Marcos Rojo, Matteo Darmian and Luke Shaw all occupying the position throughout the campaign.

Mourinho is expected to deploy a 3-5-2 formation more often this season so an attack-minded full-back to play in the wing-back role is needed and it looks like United are now ready to step-up their interest in Rose.

The England international is close to making his return to full training after recovering from a long-term knee injury which he suffered against Sunderland at the end of January.

The Mirror claim that Tottenham are now braced for a fresh approach for Rose from United while Italian giants Inter Milan are also ready to step-up their interest in the 27-year-old.

Tottenham will be desperate to keep hold of Rose after already losing Kyle Walker to Manchester City but the newspaper says Mauricio Pochettino drew-up a list of possible replacements towards the end of last season in-case the England star was lured away from north London.

Spurs are under no pressure to sell as Rose only signed a new five-year contract worth £70,000-a-week last summer but the player could make life difficult as he knows he would receive a significant pay-rise if he moved to Old Trafford.

We’ll have to wait and see how things develop but as much as Rose would be a superb addition at United, I don’t think there’s any chance Tottenham will sell unless a ridiculous offer is put on the table.

Spurs fans read all “Tottenham player X, y or z to United” as “United to attempt to unsettle another Spurs player they have no chance of signing because Levy will never sell to them after their disgraceful behaviour over Berbatov”. They also conveniently forget that they would not consider selling Schneiderlin to Spurs because they are rivals.
