Arsenal & Liverpool Ready Bids For £26m Brazilian Attacker

Arsenal and Liverpool are set to launch bids to sign Gremio attacker Luan after his proposed move to Spartak Moscow collapsed, according to reports

Managers are now pressing ahead with their plans for the final weeks of the summer transfer window so we’ll bring you all the latest news and gossip from around the globe. Today, Arsenal and Liverpool are linked with Luan….

Arsenal and Liverpool are set to launch bids to sign Gremio attacker Luan after his proposed move to Spartak Moscow collapsed, according to a report in the Express.

Luan has been with Gremio since joining the club in 2013 following a short spell at Catanduvense and the forward has developed in to one of the hottest prospects in Brazilian football since breaking in to the first team set-up three years ago.

The 24-year-old is now being tipped for inclusion in the senior Brazil squad for their upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Ecuador and Colombia later this month having previously represented his country at U23 level.

Luan has attracted interest from all over Europe this summer and looked set for a move to Russia but the Express say a proposed deal with Spartak Moscow has now fallen through.

This has seemingly alerted clubs here in the Premier League as the newspaper is citing a report from Zero Hora that claims Arsenal and Liverpool are ready to launch moves to sign Luan.

Arsene Wenger has confirmed he’s still in the market for new recruits during the closing stages of the window and the Gunners boss could be eyeing Luan as an alternative to Thomas Lemar with Monaco refusing to do business for the Frenchman.

However, the north Londoners are set to face competition from Liverpool as Jurgen Klopp is also looking to further strengthen his squad ahead of their return to the Champions League and Luan is seemingly also on his radar.

The forward has just one year remaining on his contract and the Brazilian publication says Gremio are ready to cash-in at £26m after Luan turned down the chance to sign an extension.

Therefore, the Brazilian outfit are hoping to sell now while they can still command a decent fee and the likes of Arsenal and Liverpool could certainly afford to meet their reported asking price.

We’ll have to wait and see whether Wenger or Klopp decide to pay what Gremio are demanding but Luan looks to be a top talent so he could prove to be an excellent piece of business for either club.

This is the first l’ve heard of this player so we don’t know whether he is any
good or not, o.k most Brazilians are a talent to be reckoned with, but if we can’t sign Tomas Lemar then l think we should snap up Riyad Mahrez, as we know what a talent he is and he would fit nicely into the Arsenal squad, then we must see about a centre back and possibly another goalkeeper since Emilo Martinez has left!!!!
