Arsenal and Liverpool are being tipped to launch moves to sign Julian Draxler after Paris Saint-Germain told the attacker he’s free to find a new club this summer, according to The Sun.
Draxler made his name at Schalke after progressing through their youth ranks to become one of the hottest properties in Germany and enjoyed a spell at Wolfsburg before earning a move to PSG during the 2017 January window.
The 23-year-old scored 10 goals in 25 appearances during the second half of last season but it looks as though his time at the Parc des Princes is going to come to a premature end.
Draxler is set to fall down the pecking order at PSG following the world record arrival of Neymar from Barcelona and The Sun claim the youngster has been informed that he can find a new club before the transfer window closes.
It seems a move to the Premier League could be on the cards as the newspaper cites a report from The Times that claims Arsenal and Liverpool are now lining-up moves for the German international.
Arsenal have been linked with Draxler several times in the past and Arsene Wenger could now renew his interest after struggling to agree terms with Monaco over the signing of Thomas Lemar.
Liverpool are also being linked with a number of attacking midfielder as Jurgen Klopp looks for potential replacements for Philippe Coutinho after he handed in a transfer request to try and push through a move to Barcelona.
Draxler would represent an attractive proposition for the English duo as the report suggests he could be available for just £32m – which would be an absolute bargain in today’s transfer market.
The youngster is capable of playing anywhere across the attacking positions so he’d give Wenger or Klopp plenty of options in the final third while he’s hugely experienced for his age having helped Germany win the World Cup in 2014.
Speculation suggests that PSG are also in for Kylian Mbappe so if they do sign the French international then it’s hard to see Draxler staying and I think he’d be a superb signing for Arsenal or Liverpool.
