[Video] Liverpool 1-0 Crystal Palace: Mane Nets Vital Winner For Reds
Sadio Mane scored the only goal of the game as Liverpool secured a vital 1-0 victory over Crystal Palace at Anfield this afternoon.
Liverpool controlled proceedings in the first half without really being able to create many clear-cut chances and the game was square at the break.
Former Reds striker Christian Benteke missed a glorious chance to put Palace ahead when he blazed over while well placed in the box shorty after half time.
Liverpool continued to pile on the pressure and it eventually paid off when Mane pounced on a loose ball following some sloppy play by Luka Milivojevic and poked home the opener in the 73rd minute.
The Merseysiders could, and probably should, have added to their lead during the closing stages of the game but they had to settle for 1-0 which moves them on to four points from their opening two games.
