Manchester United, Arsenal and Liverpool are ready to do-battle over the £32m signing of PSG attacker Julian Draxler during the closing stages of the window
Managers are now pressing ahead with their plans for the final weeks of the summer transfer window so we’ll bring you all the latest news and gossip from around the globe. Today, Julian Draxler is attracting plenty of interest…
Manchester United, Arsenal and Liverpool are ready to do-battle over the £32m signing of Paris Saint-Germain attacker Julian Draxler during the closing stages of the transfer window, according to the Mirror.
Draxler only joined PSG from Wolfsburg during the January transfer window and he enjoyed a productive first six months in France having scored 10 goals in his 25 appearances during the second half of last season.
However, the 23-year-old’s future at the Parc des Princes is in serious doubt following the arrival of Neymar in a world record deal from Barcelona while he’ll fall even further down the pecking order if PSG are successful in signing Kylian Mbappe.
The French giants are being tipped to win the race to sign Monaco’s teen sensation in another mega deal so it means PSG will be overloaded with attackers as they also have the likes of Edinson Cavani, Lucas Moura and Angel Di Maria vying for starting spots.
It seems Draxler is the man set to be sacrificed and a move to the Premier League could now be on the cards with three of England’s biggest clubs all battling for his signature.
The Mirror claim that Arsenal, Man Utd and Liverpool are all showing a keen interest in signing Draxler after he was made available for transfer for around £32m – which is an absolute bargain in today’s market.
Arsene Wenger is in the market for another attacker and it seems the Arsenal boss is ready to renew his interest in long-term target Draxler after failing to persuade Monaco to sell Thomas Lemar.
Jose Mourinho has also made it clear he’s hoping to sign a wide attacker before the end of the month and the newspaper says the United supremo is ready to turn his attention to Draxler after being frustrated in his pursuit of Ivan Perisic.
However, Jurgen Klopp is also being tipped to make a move to sign the German international after missing out on Draxler back in January and the youngster could be viewed as a potential replacement for Philippe Coutinho if he successfully forces a move to Barcelona.
We’ll have to wait and see how things develop over the coming days but I think Draxler would be a sensational signing for Arsenal, United or Liverpool if any of them could snap him up for just £32m this summer.
