[Teams] Everton vs Tottenham: Confirmed Line-Ups

Tottenham take on Everton at Goodison Park this afternoon. Here are the confirmed line-ups for the game.

Tottenham will be looking to get back to winning ways following a mixed start to the new season when they take on Everton at Goodison Park this afternoon.

Mauricio Pochettino has handed a full debut to summer signing Davinson Sanchez as he starts at the back alongside Toby Alderweireld and Jan Vertonghen.

Kieran Trippier is fit to start on the right so Serge Aurier has to make do with a place among the substitutes while Moussa Sissoko comes in for Moussa Dembele in midfield.

Fernando Llorente is also named on the bench as Harry Kane continues to lead the line up front with Dele Alli and Christian Eriksen in support.

Wayne Rooney starts for Everton despite his mid-week arrest for drink driving and Gylfi Sigurdsson makes his full debut.

Here are the confirmed line-ups:

Pickford, Martina, Keane, Williams, Baines, Schneiderlin, Gueye, Klaassen, Sigurdsson, Ramirez, Rooney.

Subs: Stekelenburg, Jagielka, Mirallas, Davies, Vlasic, Calvert-Lewin, Holgate.

Lloris, Trippier, Alderweireld, Sanchez, Vertonghen, Davies, Dier, Sissoko, Eriksen, Dele, Kane

Subs: Vorm, Aurier, Walker-Peters, Dembele, Winks, Son, Llorente.

So is Sissoko going to bring up his game in this one? I cannot see any power in the middle of the park if Wanyama is injured and Dembele is not in the starting 11. We are going to over run by Everton in this area if there is no one controlling the ball for us and holding on to possession. Are we going to rely on Dier to do that? It’s a no no. He has a habit of giving the ball away easily, inaccurate passing at times and not the guy for me to control the play in midfield. Bad sign to me and it’s a wrong tactical set up for Poch in my honest opinion…

I would rather he starts Wink in midfield and partner him with Dier there.
