Alvaro Morata was on target as Chelsea beat Leicester City 2-1 at the King Power Stadium this afternoon.

The visitors opened the scoring shortly before half time as Morata headed home from a Cesar Azpilicueta cross to make it 1-0 in the 41st minute.

It was 2-0 shortly after the break as N’Golo Kante rifled home a low drive from long-range against his former club to put Chelsea firmly in control in the 50th minute.

Leicester were given the perfect opportunity to pull one back when Thibaut Courtois fouled Jamie Vardy in the area. The striker dusted himself off to convert the penalty and make it 1-2 in the 62nd minute.

However, the hosts couldn’t find an equaliser to Chelsea held on to secure a hard fought 2-1 win that sees them move up to third in the Premier League table.
