Michy Batshuayi scored twice as Chelsea got their Champions League campaign off to the perfect start after thrashing Qarabag 6-0 at Stamford Bridge this evening.

The Blues opened the scoring inside the first six minutes as Pedro curled home a superb effort from the edge of the area before Davide Zappacosta capped his debut with a spectacular strike – although the Italian may have meant it as a cross.

It was 3-0 shortly after half-time as Cesar Azpilicueta headed home from a Cesc Fabregas pass before Tiemoue Bakayoko came off the bench to make it 4-0 in the 71st minute.

Just four minutes later, Batshuayi slotted home from the edge of the area to make it 5-0 before the Belgian international capped off a superb night by making it 6-0 with a close-range finish.

The win means Antonio Conte’s men got their group stage campaign off to the perfect start and they sit clear at the top of Group C after Roma and Atletico Madrid drew 0-0 in tonight’s other game.
