By on September 13, 2017

Tottenham kicked off their Champions League campaign with a hugely important 3-1 victory over Borussia Dortmund at Wembley this evening.

Spurs got off to the perfect start as Heung-min Son opened the scoring in the 4th minute with a fine finish before Andriy Yarmolenko curled home a stunner to level things up at 1-1 in the 11th minute.

Spurs retook the lead within just four minutes as Harry Kane beat two defenders before firing low in to the bottom corner for 2-1 to cap a frantic opening 15 minutes at Wembley.

Dortmund thought they had an equaliser midway through the second half when Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang fired home but the goal was wrongly ruled out for offside.

Tottenham took full advantage of their good fortune as Kane lashed home following a great ball from Christian Eriksen to make it 3-1 in the 60th minute.

Jan Vertonghen was sent off in the dying minutes for a second bookable offence but Tottenham held on to secure a vital three points in Group H.
