The transfer window is now closed but clubs are already thinking ahead to January and next summer so we’ll bring you all the latest gossip from around the globe. Today, Arsenal are linked with Lucas Moura…

Arsenal are ready to launch a move to try and sign out-of-favour Paris Saint-Germain winger Lucas Moura this winter, according to the Express.

Moura was once heralded as one of the most exciting young attackers in world football having come through the youth ranks at Sao Paulo and was much sought-after when he joined PSG in 2012.

The Brazilian international enjoyed a positive start to life in France and has provided 46 goals and 47 assists in his 224 appearances in all competitions over the past five years.

However, Moura’s first team place in now under serious threat following the arrival of Neymar from Barcelona while Kylian Mbappe’s move from Monaco has also seen him drop down the pecking order.

The South American has played just 12 minutes in PSG’s opening eight games this season and while he did manage a goal during that cameo against Metz, he still hasn’t been able to force his way in to Unai Emery’s plans.

Moura was heavily linked with a move to England during the summer and the speculation is already resurfacing suggesting he will look for a move during the January window.

And it seems Arsenal are ready to offer the 25-year-old a fresh start as the Express are citing a report from transfermarketweb that claims we will make an enquiry over a possible deal to sign Moura this winter.

The winger could be open to the idea if we can offer him regular action ahead of the World Cup but the Italian publication suggests that any move is more likely to happen if Alexis Sanchez or Mesut Ozil leave in January.

Our ken men will be out of contract next summer so we could see Arsenal cash-in if neither player has put pen-to-paper on an extension by the time the winter window re-opens.

Sanchez is probably the most likely to leave as he was close to joining Man City on deadline day last month so if we could secure Moura as his replacement then we could see our Chilean international make the move to the Etihad Stadium this winter.
