The transfer window may be closed but clubs are still working hard ahead of January and next summer so we’ll bring you all the latest gossip from around the globe. Today, Man Utd are linked with Danny Rose…

Manchester United are ready to steal a march on Chelsea by launching a £50m bid to sign Tottenham Hotspur defender Danny Rose in January, according to The Sun.

Rose’s future at White Hart Lane has been cast in serious doubt after he criticised the clubs transfer policy and wage structure during a scathing interview in the summer.

The England international also suggested he would consider a move away from Spurs in order to win trophies with the Doncaster-born full-back confirming he’d like to move closer to his family.

This led to reports linking Rose with both Chelsea and Man Utd but the defender ended up staying at Tottenham after issuing a public apology for his outburst.

However, it seems the speculation isn’t going away as The Sun have cast fresh doubt over Rose’s future after he was left out of Tottenham’s official 2018 calendar – despite being the clubs longest serving player and one of the best full-backs in the league.

The newspaper says that while Chelsea remain interested in luring Rose to Stamford Bridge, United are now ready to steal a march on their rivals by testing Tottenham’s resolve with a £50m bid this January.

Left-back has been something of a problem area for United as a number of players have failed to nail down the position and it looks as though Mourinho is eyeing Rose as his long-term solution.

Obviously Spurs will do all they can to keep hold of the 27-year-old and there is virtually no chance Daniel Levy will sanction a sale this winter if they book their place in the knockout stages of the Champions League.

However, with Tottenham facing a tricky group, United may feel quietly confident of persuading them to cash-in if the north Londoners fail to progress in Europe’s elite competition.

If United did manage to land Rose, then it would cast fresh doubt over the future of Luke Shaw and we could even see Tottenham look to the 22-year-old as a potential replacement.

Shaw has endured a difficult time with form and fitness since joining United in 2015 and he could be tempted by the prospect of rejuvenating his career under former boss Mauricio Pochettino – who he worked with at Southampton.

We’ll have to wait and see how things progress over the coming weeks but I don’t see the rumours linking Rose with a move going away any time soon and wouldn’t be surprised to see him leave at the end of the season.

I wouldn’t discount Chelsea from the race just yet but United would be the favourites in my book and they may be able to broker a move more smoothly if they agree to include Shaw in any deal.

Yeah, according to the Sun so called newspaper. Their nonsense is only matched by the Daily Star, that well known Manchester United arse licker of a rag. Both these comics have been making up stories on the hoof, attempting to sell of Spurs best players to manchester united ever since Berbatov 10 years ago. It was only a few short months ago that they were writing that Spurs were open to an exchange, Shaw for Rose. Shaw because hes well know to Pochettino and plays at left back. Can any of you idiots see Spurs selling Danny Rose to anyone let alone the manchester club in January? Forget about elimination from the Champions league or not, they still have other fish to fry and with Davies as the only other legitimate left back at the club, Pochettino will be unwise to sanction such a move in January. The man isnt stupid. Some may say that Jan Vertonghen can step in if necessary. That in itself is crap because he’s an integral part of our back three and the relationship he has forged with Toby and Sanchez is working really well for it to be disrupted. If the club decides to sell Rose next Summer, so be it. He’ll be a little closer to mummy in Yorkshire.
