[Photos] Key Man Utd Trio Missing As 22-Man Squad Flies-Out For Benfica Clash

Jose Mourinho and a 22-man Manchester United squad flew-out to Portugal this afternoon ahead of their Champions League group stage clash with Benfica.

The Reds have chosen to train at the Estadio da Luiz on Tuesday afternoon in order to prepare for their Group A clash which takes place on Wednesday night.

It looks like Mourinho will once again be without Marouane Fellaini, Eric Bailly and Michael Carrick as the trio were nowhere to be seen as the rest of the squad left from Manchester airport this afternoon.

Fellaini missed the draw at Liverpool on Sunday due to a knee injury that he picked up on international duty while Bailly is also sidelined by a groin injury that he suffered while away with the Ivory Coast.

Carrick has missed out with a calf injury in recent weeks so it looks like Mourinho will have to make-do without the trio as he prepares for United’s third Champions League group game of the campaign.

One player who could feature is Luke Shaw as the full-back was among the travelling party today after recovering from a foot injury that’s kept him out so far this season.

Marcos Rojo was also spotted at the airport en route to Portugal, however, it’s highly unlikely he’ll be involved against Benfica as he’s still some way short of fitness following a serious knee ligament injury.

Here are the 22 player that flew-out today as confirmed by the Manchester Evening News:

David de Gea, Sergio Romero, Joel Pereira, Daley Blind, Victor Lindelof, Antonio Valencia, Luke Shaw, Chris Smalling, Matteo Darmian, Axel Tuanzebe, Phil Jones, Marcos Rojo, Ashley Young, Jesse Lingard, Nemanja Matic, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Juan Mata, Ander Herrera, Scott McTominay, Marcus Rashford, Romelu Lukaku, Anthony Martial
