[Video Goals] Tottenham 4-1 Liverpool: Kane Hits Brace As Spurs Thrash Reds

Harry Kane scored twice as Tottenham beat Liverpool 4-1 at Wembley this afternoon to cement their position in the top four.

Spurs cam flying out the blocks and opened the scoring in the 4th minute when Harry Kane slotted home in to an empty net after beating Simon Mignolet to the ball following a throw-in.

Some shocking defending from Dejan Lovren let Kane in less than 10 minutes later and the England international teed-up Heung-min Son who expertly finished to make it 2-0.

Liverpool pulled one back thanks to a scuffed finish from Mohamed Salah midway through the first half but Spurs restored their two-goal advantage when Dele Alli volleyed home following a poor headed clearance from Joel Matip.

Tottenham put the result beyond doubt shortly after the break when Kane grabbed his second of the game to make it 4-1 from close range after poor keeping from Mingolet.

The result sees Spurs move level on points with second-placed Manchester United while slip to nine in the table – a full 12 points adrift of leaders Manchester City.
