Manchester United are looking to wrap-up a £30m deal to sign Valencia midfielder Carlos Soler well ahead of next summer, according to a report in the Mirror.

United got the majority of their transfer business done early last summer with Romelu Lukaku, Nemanja Matic and Victor Lindelof on board during the early stages of the summer window.

It looks like Jose Mourinho is hoping to do the same this time around as the Mirror are citing a report from the Daily Mail that claims United are keen to secure the signing of Soler ahead of next summer.

The 20-year-old has emerged as one of the hottest young talents in Spanish football since breaking in to the Valencia first team last year having progressed through their youth ranks.

Soler is now a regular at Valencia and scored during a 2-2 draw with Real Madrid at the Bernabeu earlier in the season while he’s also tipped to become a senior international having already represented Spain at U21 level.

The midfielder’s potential has seemingly alerted United as the report claims Mourinho has identified Solar as a prime transfer target and wants an agreement in place for his signature over the coming months.

The youngster has a £75 buyout clause written in to his contract but the Mirror claim Valencia aren’t in a position to hold out for that amount due to financial issues at the club.

Therefore, United are eyeing a bargain deal with the newspaper suggesting they are hoping to have a £30m agreement in place soon that would see them sign Solar at the start of next summer.

United need to find a long-term replacement for Michael Carrick as the 35-year-old is set to leave at the end of the season and it looks like Mourinho is eyeing Solar as the man he wants.
