Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino has confirmed Harry Kane is a doubt for Saturday’s huge clash with Manchester United at Old Trafford, according to Football London.

Kane continued his sensational for this season after scoring twice to help Spurs to an impressive 4-1 victory over Liverpool at Wembley last weekend.

However, the England international was substituted during the closing stages of the game and left the pitch clutching the back of his leg, sparking fears he’d picked up a hamstring injury.

Pochettino tried to play down those concerns immediately after the game as the Spurs boss told reporters Kane was just tired and was only suffering from fatigue in his muscle.

The 24-year-old hitman was left out of the Tottenham squad entirely for last night’s disappointing 3-2 defeat to West Ham in the fourth round of the Carabao Cup.

And speaking to reporters after the game, Pochettino cast doubt over Kane’s availability to face United after admitting the striker was a doubt for the trip to Old Trafford.

When asked if Kane was fit to face United, Poch is quoted as saying by Football London.

“We’ll see. We need to assess the team, we were forced to rotate [tonight] for different reasons.”

These comments will come as a concern to Tottenham fans but even more worrying are further reports that suggest Kane is in fact a major doubt to take on United.

The Mirror claims that Kane is undergoing intensive treatment to try and get fit but is fighting a losing battle so they say Fernando Llorente is expected to lead the line up front at Old Trafford.

The newspaper goes on to suggest that Kane is also in danger of missing Tottenham’s huge Champions League clash with Real Madrid at Wembley due to his hamstring injury.

We’ll have to wait for Pochettino to provide an update at his Friday press conference but it would obviously be a huge blow for Spurs if Kane was ruled out this weekend as he’s scored 13 goals in just 12 games for Tottenham this season.
