Tottenham will be looking to give their title hopes a major boost when they take on Manchester United at Old Trafford this afternoon.

Here is the side we think Mauricio Pochettino will select for the game:

Goalkeeper: Hugo Lloris was given a well-earned rest in midweek with Michel Vorm starting during the League Cup defeat to West Ham but Lloris will be recalled today.

Defence: Danny Rose made his first start since January on Wednesday night but I don’t think Pochettino will risk playing him again so soon after ten months out. Therefore, Ben Davies should start on the left.

Kieran Trippier featured in the League Cup game in midweek so we could see Serge Aurier come back in on the right if Pochettino wants to freshen things up.

Davinson Sanchez and Jan Vertonghen were rested against West Ham but they are certain to come back in to the defence with the pair starting alongside Toby Alderweireld in a back three.

Midfield: Mousa Dembele made his comeback in midweek but the Belgian international might not be considered fit enough to start against United so Harry Winks could be given another run out.

Victor Wanyama is still struggling to overcome a niggling knee injury and is due to see a specialist again next week so Eric Dier is expected to once again start in the holding role.

Attack: Tottenham have been rocked by the news that Harry Kane has been ruled out of the trip to Old Trafford with a hamstring injury that he sustained during the win over Liverpool last weekend.

Therefore, Fernando Llorente could keep his place up front and the Spaniard should be supported by Dele Alli and the returning Christian Eriksen – who should be recalled after being rested in midweek.

Erik Lamela is edging closer to making his return from a long-term hip injury so we may even see him named on the bench today along with the likes of Heung-min Son.

Here is how I expect Spurs to line-up:
