Tottenham Hotspur have been handed a major injury boost as Harry Kane has been passed fit to start against Real Madrid this evening, according to the Mirror.

Spurs welcome the reigning European champions to their adopted Wembley home with both clubs level at the top of Group H having taken seven points from their three games so far.

Kane was initially considered as a major doubt for the game after suffering a hamstring injury during Tottenham’s 4-1 victory over Liverpool nine days ago.

The England international missed the League Cup defeat to West Ham last week before sitting out Saturday’s 1-0 loss to Manchester United at Old Trafford.

Kane was able to return to full training yesterday and Mauricio Pochettino said at his pre-match press conference that he was confident the striker would be available.

Pochettino is quoted as saying by the Mirror;

“Yes, we are very confident. He is on the list. I think it maybe can be possible for him to be available to play tomorrow.”

Some were suggesting Pochettino may not risk his star man, however, the Mirror claim that Kane will definitely lead the line against Madrid tonight after being passed fit to start having been assessed at training yesterday.

The news will come as a huge boost to Spurs as Kane has been in sensational form so far this season having scored 13 goals in his 11 games in all competitions so far.

Pochettino will also be able to call upon Dele Alli again after the attacker served his three-game European suspension so the England youngster is expected to start behind Kane in attack.

Tottenham know a win would all-but guarantee their place in the knockout stages of the Champions League and it would also put them in a strong position to top the group ahead of Madrid and Borussia Dortmund.
