Manchester United, Arsenal and Liverpool are among the clubs showing a keen interest in signing Celtic’s £50m-rated duo Moussa Dembele and Kieran Tierney, according to the Daily Record.
Dembele came through the youth ranks at PSG but has developed in to one of the hottest young strikers in British football since joining Celtic from Fulham in 2016.
The 21-year-old has provided 37 goals and 11 assists in 60 appearances so far while he’s also scored 4 goals in his 8 caps for the French U21 side having previously represented his country at every youth level.
Tierney on the other hand has been with Celtic his entire career having come through their youth system and he’s now considered as one of Brendan Rodgers’ most important players since breaking in to the first team in 2015.
The 20-year-old is already a regular with Scotland and was recently rewarded with a huge six-year contract as Celtic looked to protect one of their most valuable assets.
Both players have been attracting plenty of interest from south of the border but the Mirror report suggests that Manchester United are leading the race to sign the talented youngsters.
Left-back has become something of a problem area for United and Tierney would be a long-term solution while Dembele could be viewed as a potential replacement for Zlatan Ibrahimovic – who’s expected to leave at the end of the season.
However, it looks like United will face plenty of competition as the Daily Record claim that Arsenal and Liverpool are also showing a keen interest in signing the Celtic stars.
The newspaper says United, Arsenal and Liverpool scouts were all in the stands to watch Dembele and Tierney in action during Celtic’s 2-1 Champions League defeat to Bayern Munich last night.
Understandably, the Hoops are desperate to keep hold of their star duo so the Daily Record suggest it would take a combined fee of around £50m to persuade them to sell Dembele and Tierney.
We’ll have to wait and see how things develop over the coming months but I think it will only be a matter of time before they come to the Premier League if the pair continue to impress in Scotland.
